This series is inspired by the giant rose windows seen around gothic churches in Europe. The geometry, the colourful stained glass comprising of mainly primary colours of red, blue and yellow, the intricacies of the tracery designs all left me in awe.

My first encounter was with the Notre Dame of Paris and her two world famous stained glass rose windows. Designs of rose windows generally narrate a story cycle of a Saint's life, depending on which Saint the church is dedicated to. I borrowed the tracery designs and invented my own colours and patterns.

Some designs even have an oriental feel that resembles mandalas, which was a serendipitous result. I hope this convey the message that even though we all look different, deep down we are all the same, we are all from the same origins.
